Finding Who I Am

God put it on my heart to start a blog months ago..now two years ago, actually make that three years ago. But I have been very guilty of giving God a million excuses of why this wont work.
I'm shy
I'm introverted
Not good with words
What do I have to say that others would care to listen?
Who am I to start a blog?
The list goes on! Anyone else feel like Moses when God calls you to do something outside of your comfort zone? Feel free to reply and let me know, we can both be in the same boat together.
I asked God for help and boy did I get it! Every song about who I am came on the radio, God directed me and had me see every Facebook post that cited Scripture about who I am.
God directed me to every Scripture that spoke about Who I am.
Ask for wisdom and God will give it!
Moses also had serious doubts about who he was in Christ.
We see in Exodus 3:11, Moses starts giving excuses why he thinks he is not qualified to being the Israelites out of Egypt.
"Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" I love how God reassures Moses right from the start saying, "I will be with you." Exodus 3:11-12.
Moses, undeterred goes on to give many more excuses.
"Moses said to the Lord, "Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.
The Lord said to him, "Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." Exodus 4:10-12
Even after God tells Moses the different signs he could show to prove He was with him, and give him the words to say Moses still did not feel qualified for this assignment.
He goes so far as to straight out tell God "Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else."
Have you ever been there? I know I have, trembling in my boots, pleading with God to send someone else. I'm thankful God does not leave us there though. He sees us through, reassuring us like He did with Moses.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do. Notice how it says "prepared in advance. For us." I don't know about you, but that makes me pause. God knew in advance what we would be doing. He orders our steps so that we may arrive to our calling at His precise time. - Psalms 37:23-24.
Moses definitely had doubts about his qualifications and if he was the right man for the job. I can totally understand that, after all God was calling him for a big, and very important job. But God knew, he seen Moses for who he was, cause after all God created Moses. But I know through my own doubts and fears I'm guilty too of not seeing myself through the eyes of God. I hate to even admit it, there has been many times I have let fear stand in my way of doing what God has called me to do.
Whenever I find myself unsure and anxious of the path ahead, I read back over one of my favorite passages. "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. - Psalms 32:8. I also remind myself that God is right there with me, even when I can not "feel" His presence. He guides me along the path, and will never leave me nor forsake me.- Deuteronomy 31:6
I pray that God opens your eyes to start seeing yourself through His eyes, and know that you are capable of hard things. You can step confidently into what God is calling you to do, because God is with you and for you.
Until next time,
Christina
